VIA: Veriditas International Association of Professionally Trained Labyrinth Facilitators

Belong to a community that supports your labyrinth work in the world.

Veriditas is best known for presenting the labyrinth as a spiritual tool, one that can be taken into many different settings and offered to many different populations.

After two decades of providing quality training for those who want to share the labyrinth with others, Veriditas is taking the next step. Facilitators stand at the heart of our organization and we have formed a professional association for our trained labyrinth facilitators. Labyrinth facilitators have taken the labyrinth with them into many professions, such as clergy and spiritual direction, counseling, teaching, wellness, health care,  to name only a few. There is an emerging and defined body of knowledge around how to facilitate the labyrinth that needed to be recognized as a new and growing profession.

Whether you hold your labyrinth facilitation as an avocation or as a part of your professional work, you are invited to join us in this new endeavor that is designed to recognize your skill, empower you with a professional organization, and provide you with affiliation and a sense of belonging in a growing field.

VIA welcomes anyone who has completed the Veriditas Facilitator Training.

VIA Standards and Guidelines

When you join VIA, you are agreeing to the following Standards and Guidelines:

  1. As a professional organization of labyrinth facilitators, we are dedicated to excellence in facilitating the labyrinth.

  2. We agree to be guided by respect for diversity and equality and not discriminate based on gender, race, creed, sexual orientation, age or personal disability. We hold that the labyrinth is open to all.

  3. We are committed to maintaining the highest degree of integrity, respecting that each person’s walk is their own and that there is no “right” way to walk the labyrinth.

  4. In facilitating labyrinth walks, we strive to cultivate a sense of community.

  5. We agree that as facilitators we are responsible for offering a safe space for the labyrinth walk.

  6. We agree to protect the space of a labyrinth walk by not allowing photos to be taken without knowledge and permission from those involved.

  7. We understand that offering the labyrinth experience to others is a spiritual practice and that we expect to reflect and grow in the process while we are holding space for others to do the same.

  8. When handing out written materials or making presentations, we agree to give credit and cite sources when taking information from other sites.

  9. To avoid conflict of interest, we agree to honor Veriditas Facilitator Training agreement not to duplicate the training or compete with existing Veriditas programs.

  10. We are committed to continuing our own education around the labyrinth. To that end, at least once a year, we will attend a training to deepen our experience, or knowledge such as a Veriditas webinar, a Veriditas on-line class, a Veriditas workshop, training, pilgrimage, Veriditas Council Facilitator Renewal event, or The Labyrinth Society Gathering.
