FOURTH QUARTER 2019 e-News

Dear Veriditas Community,

In this season of gratitude, we at Veriditas have so much to be grateful for!

It begins with you, our amazing labyrinth loving community.  When I attend one of our events, I am always struck by how wonderful the people are who are drawn to attend, how creative and thoughtful, a tribe of spiritual beings on this human path of ours.

This past year has been a good one for Veriditas.

    • We have worked to build a strong faculty of talented teachers who are spreading the work Lauren Artress began in their own geographic areas and their own communities. There are more and more regional offerings.
    • Our VIA (Veriditas International Association of professionally trained labyrinth facilitators) has grown with increased attendance at the webinars providing continuing education and bringing facilitators together virtually in a way that has not been possible in the past.
    • The Veriditas Council continues to offer a Facilitator Renewal Day each year drawing more and more facilitators together. Watch for details about the next event in April 2020 in South Dakota.
    • Our Labyrinths in Higher Education Initiative has produced some informative and creative webinars this year. Check them out under Resources on our website.
    • Grounding the administrative center of Veriditas, our staff continues to grow as a team. We have automated many of our functions, learning to work even more efficiently.
    • Financially, thanks to your gifts, we continue to grow. As a small non-profit, dependent on fundraising, and program revenue, this can be challenging.
    • Our auction was an exciting one and we met our goal this year.  We so enjoyed seeing the items you donated and purchased. (Staff were excited to win items as well!)
    • Our year-end fundraising campaign is now underway.  Join us in supporting the work
    • We have seen the number of labyrinths being birthed around the world continue to increase.
    • The vision of Veriditas is alive and flourishing at a time when the labyrinth is so needed in our world.

Thank you for all the ways you participate in the Veriditas Community.  We are so grateful for you!

The Australian Labyrinth Network invites you to
join the Global Healing Wave of Forgiveness 2020

31st December 2019 - 1st January 2020
Global Labyrinth Walk and Ho'Oponopono Prayer into the new decade

Labyrinth walk to start on 31st December 2019 and walk into 2020 in your time zone.
First walk will be in New Zealand. Last walk will be in Hawaii.

It’s time to acknowledge the start of another decade with intention.

The vision is to consciously enter the next decade with a lighter heart and a focus on personal and collective forgiveness. Repeating the respected and ancient Hawaiian prayer ho’opononpono as one walks the labyrinth, we can alleviate and free ourselves and others from the burden of the past and use the power of collective intentions while the earth fully rotates to clear the planet of negative energies.

I’m sorry
Please forgive me
I thank you
I love you

Ho'oponopono

By all joining in, we can create a healing wave of forgiveness while the earth completes a full rotation.
You're invited to be a conscious part of this global event.
Begin now by learning this prayer. It can be spoken or sung, inside or outside, alone or with friends.
Create your own version, share it, or go online to find other versions.
Trace a finger labyrinth while being with the prayer.
Walk a labyrinth while singing the song.
Host or support an event that brings friends and community together to celebrate the New Year 2020, the labyrinth and Ho’oponopono.

As we focus our energies on this prayer, a healing wave of forgiveness will wash over the planet for 24 hours.

Please share this vision and the event widely in all your networks, and encourage people and organizations to register their participation on the Australian Labyrinth Network.

The world invites us to forgive
ourselves and others
so we can blossom and
grow together into our shared future.

Veriditas Council Applications Now Being Accepted!

Deadline – December 5

The Veriditas Council invites interested Veriditas-trained facilitators to apply for membership. Join a group of other dedicated facilitators to develop and implement practical ways of supporting the ever-expanding global network of labyrinth facilitators.

The Council meets twice a year, once in conjunction with TLS and the other at the Council-sponsored Renewal Day, held in various locations in the United States, this year in the Black Hills of South Dakota. In addition, monthly meetings are held via Zoom conference calls. Members are asked to commit to a three-year term and cover costs of attending meetings.

Important qualities for Council members are to think creatively, act cooperatively and follow through with responsibilities. And, of course, to experience their own personal growth in relationship to the labyrinth and with those who follow its path.

Direct inquiries to Twylla Alexander (twyllabalexander@gmail.com), chair of the search committee.

Application form can be downloaded here

GLOBAL HEALING RESPONSE

The Global Healing Response, founded in 2005 by Council member Ellen Bintz Meuch, offers an annual theme and quarterly ideas and information to enrich labyrinth walks.

The GHR theme for 2019 is INTENTION
Focus: Amplify!

The study of the energy of intention is fascinating—the science, the possibilities and how to maximize it for healing. Using this science, I have created a three-step process that dovetails beautifully with the use of the labyrinth to create healing for ourselves, our communities and the world.

“Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has.” —Margaret Mead
