In the midst of global pandemics and economic and political stresses December brings changes in our lives and rhythms. Winter/Summer Solstice, Holiday celebrations and traditions midst the recognition of losses, endings and beginnings of the year – all come.

The rhythm of night and day are changing. From the balance of autumn equinox, the equal days of night and day, we now move into the uneven pattern of dark and light. The energy of changing stories come to us.

In the craziness of this year, the change of seasons has become seasons of change, constant change. In our lives, individual, communal, global, that which has been even and balanced, is turning upside down, inside out, uncertain, unclear. imbalanced.

How can the labyrinth help anchor us in this December time? In our day together, we will learn of the labyrinth story throughout history, reflect on our own personal journeys, take time to meditate and finger walk together, find our voice and song, and share how we can claim the labyrinth space for ourselves and offer it to others in these transitional times. We hope you will join us for this journey.

The Reverend Dr. Kay Mutert

Veriditas Master Teacher

The Rev. Dr. Kay Mutert has been working with the Master Teacher program of Veriditas since 2008, offering labyrinth workshops in awakening new creative energy, community building, and spiritual transformation

Her Master Teacher responsibilities include training new facilitators and renewal training for those trained in past years.

She works with organizations to establish labyrinth communities, to hear the hopes of a setting and translate that into an ongoing vision.

In her workshops and trainings she holds the space for participants to discover and develop their own gifts and skills, and to build community.

Kay has been a member of the Veriditas Council, Southeastern USA regional representative, and musician. When she left her local church ministry Kay created "DaySpring - a source of creative expression and renewal of spirit", as a conduit to work with an increasingly larger circle of community.

Through her labyrinth work, she uses her experience as musician, minister, teacher and spiritual accompanist with groups and individuals from diverse arenas of life, inviting them to discover the possibilities of the labyrinth to experience a reconnection with the sacredness of life, to find the language for their own setting.

Kay's work helps others find ways for renewal of mind, body, spirit and creative energy, through retreats, workshops and sacred events.

Veriditas is dedicated to inspiring personal and planetary change and renewal through the labyrinth experience.

We accomplish our mission by training and supporting labyrinth facilitators around the world, and offering meaningful events that promote further understanding of the labyrinth as a tool for personal and community transformation. Our Vision is that the labyrinth experience guides us in developing the higher level of human awareness we need to thrive in the 21st century.
